Lalitha Rao takes a primary role in performing analysis on the hundreds of earthquakes recorded each month by the Alaska Earthquake Information Center at the Geophysical Institute. Identifying P- and S- wave arrivals, determining location and magnitude for the earthquakes and producing weekly seismicity reports for use by the general public, as well as State and Federal agencies, are part of her tasks.
