I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Geophysical Institute, studying volcano seismology with Mike West. My research focuses on eruptive volcanism in Alaska, where I use seismic data from the Alaska Volcano Observatory's numerous seismic networks to track volcanic activity. As an Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) graduate student I am involved in daily operational volcano monitoring tasks, crisis response during volcanic eruptions and installation and maintenance of the seismic networks along the Aleutian arc. I was closely involved with the 2009 Redoubt eruption, assisting with fieldwork, seismic monitoring and data analysis.
When not in the office, I am either on my bike, playing the cello, or doing some team sport like floorball, hockey or frisbee.
